• Used at the bottom of the hole, acting as a landing profile to accept a liner wiper plug during plug displacement

• Used with a Hydraulic liner hanger to pressurize the liner and actuate the liner hanger

• Can be used in applications in place of a float shoe or float collar if the liner is ran open ended, shutting off flow when the plugs are landed

• Used to pressure test a casing string before cementing by dropping a ball then shearing out the seat and regaining circulations
