Running Tools & Cementing Packoffs
Running Tools
Running Tools, often also referred to as “setting tools”, are used to carry liner equipment to setting and releasing depth. Depending on the tool, at that point, the tool can be used to set the liner equipment; release the liner from the running string; actuate cementing packoffs; torque the liner prior to disengagement; and other actuating and releasing tasks.
Since which tools to employ varies according to the liner equipment used, as well as the wellbore and the design of the liner, be sure to consult with your Millennium Tool expert about which particular tools best suit your application.

Cementing Packoffs
Cementing Packoffs temporarily seal the setting tool and the top of the liner. The setting tool running nut itself cannot be depended upon to provide a dependable seal during setting and cementing procedures. Additionally, the running nut is often disengaged from the running tool before cementing.
Consequently, Cementing Packoffs are designed for either easy retrieval or can be easily drilled out.
