Float Equipment
Float Equipment
A series of back pressure check valves that prevent reverse flow of cement slurry from the annulus into the liner string as it is run.
Float Shoes
Float Shoes are the first component in a liner string at the down-hole end. Fitted internally with one or more back pressure valves, these components typically have a rounded bottom to help guide the liner string around and over ledges. Some float shoes also incorporate blades on their rounded bottom to assist in anti-rotation if the liner is to be set on bottom instead of hung. The inside components are made of materials that can be easily drilled out if the liner is to be expanded.
